Our Mission:
New Leaf: Services For Our Community exists to help lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning individuals and families of all ages lead healthy and connected lives. We provide professional mental health, substance abuse, and social support services to strengthen our diverse community.

Our History:
New Leaf was forged from the 1995 merger of Operation Concern and 18th Street Services, which had been operating since 1974 and 1975 respectively. New Leaf continues the two agencies’ long histories of providing quality mental health, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and support services to low-income and disenfranchised individuals, families and groups.

With our established credibility and community ties, our many years of experience and professional training, the merger created a stronger and more diverse agency with greater potential for serving people that other agencies cannot—or will not—treat.

Our Services:
New Leaf serves nearly 1,600 individuals a year, through our spectrum of services:

Our staff members include: licensed clinical social workers; licensed marriage and family therapists; professional masters level clinicians; and interns under licensed supervision. Our multi-cultural clinicians are trained in the fields of HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance abuse.

“Since joining the leadership of New Leaf in October, I have been welcomed with open arms by the Board of Directors, our staff and community partners. I am grateful to have this experience as part of the foundation for my successful transition into the work of New Leaf.

Such a warm and supportive welcome is just what’s offered by New Leaf when LGBT individuals reach out for help with the struggle for wellbeing. Healing requires connection and community and this is what New Leaf provides every day.”

Ann Harrison, Executive Director
